The Candlemaker offers a variety of different wax types at our store. The are the
container, pillar, soy-pour wax, carnauba, beeswax and beeswax sheets. Soy Wax
is produced from the hydrogenation of soybean oil that is ultimately derived
from soybean. Soy candle wax is one of the newest candle waxes in use. It is a
preferred wax today because it is a renewable resource, biodegradable. Paraffin
is a petroleum based candle wax. Paraffin waxes are mainly identified in the
candle industry by melt point and oil content. Beeswax candle wax is made from
the wax bees use in their hives. Beeswax can be bought in several forms
including blocks and beads. Carnauba wax is a vegetable wax obtained from the
fronds of the carnauba tree. It is mostly flaxy and is used to increase the
melting point of a candle.
